Winnipeg, MB. - Councillor Kevin Klein (Charleswood-Tuxedo-Westwood) recently told media his 2021 resolution was to introduce policy changes at City Hall that would alter the thinking from a "Tax Collector" to a "Service Provider." Klein told Hal Anderson during an interview on 680 CJOB that, "Good Services make Good Cities."
Klein has tabled two policy changes to kick-off 2021. His first will provide residents a new option for paying their Water and Sewer bill, and the second will address complaints from residents with the current permitting system.
Klein said his proposed policy is nothing new, "cities such as Calgary already offer a "Minor Tenant Improvement Permit" processed in twenty-one calendar days." The policy Klein has tabled will introduce a 30-day permit for residents.
Klein is inviting residents to share their thoughts on these policy suggestions and other items scheduled for the Assiniboia Community Committee meeting on Monday, January 11, beginning at 9:30 am.
